Scott Anderson
Scott Anderson works in the emergency management/homeland security field, but also has an interest and a background in writing and editing, which led him to Suite 101.
Anderson was born and raised in Washington state, but after graduating from college, he decided to explore “the other Washington” — our nation’s capital — so he packed up his car with as much stuff as he could fit in and drove across country to start a new life.
After stints writing and editing articles for a newsletter company, press materials for a political action committee, and health-related fact sheets and newsletter articles for a federal government agency, Anderson focused on a career in the emergency planning and homeland security field, writing plans and associated materials for government agencies, as well as designing, planning, and conducting emergency exercises.
When not working, Anderson can be found tracing his family tree, biking on local trails in the D.C. area, jogging, and hiking with friends. He used to row competitively, has run in more than 30 races (from 5Ks to half-marathons), and has traveled to Canada, Iceland, Costa Rica, Argentina, Chile, Great Britain, the Grenadine Islands, and many places around the United States. Every October, you can find him riding his bike in the annual 100-mile Sea Gull Century ride in Maryland.
Scott lives in northern Virginia.
